How to make their store look like our demo site in step by step guide

Congratulations, you have installed and activated the Charge theme on your store. You are now having a new theme, and then what? Let’s make your store look like the Charge demo website.

Before you start replacing the demo content with your own, we recommend you configure the main settings for your store in the Shopify admin panel. Of course, we assume you’ve already downloaded products for the store. 

Set up the navigation

From your Shopify admin, go to Online store - Navigation. Here you can add the Top navigation menu. Click on the Add menu in the upper right corner.

From your Shopify admin, go to Online store - Navigation. Here you can add multiple navigation menus. Click on the Add menu in the upper right corner. You will be able to add menu items linked to products, collections, pages, or even blog articles. To help yourself you may use instructions from Shopify. 

Departments item menu

To create the Departments menu like on the Charge theme demo, you have to go to Shopify admin - Sales channel - Navigation. Now click on Add a Menu and add menu items.

Note: the Departments menu should include child items.

Then in the Charge theme Header section, you can choose the ready menu to show to customers.

The Charge theme also allows for adding a dropdown menu in the footer for quick links. Since you create it in the Shopify configuration, you will be able to add it to the footer later.

Set up language and country

Go Online Store - Settings. You may see it in the bottom left corner of the dashboard. Choose Languages.

Click on Add Language and select a required language from the drop-down menu. 

To add countries to your market to start selling in, go to Online Store - Settings - Market. Click on Add Market in the upper right corner of the page. Here you can specify the market and choose countries/ regions. You must search for the country and select the checkbox next to its name. Click Save to update.

Set up filters

To set up active filters and see them on your storefront, you should have the installed free filter app Shopify Search & Discovery. It allows for adding up to 24 filters to your store. When you go Online Store you can see the app in the bottom left corner of the dashboard above Settings. 

Click on the app, go to Filters, and then click Add Filter.

Click Save to update.

Now you have two options - Customize the homepage of the Charge Default or Customize the homepage of the Charge Gorpcore design. Choose your one and start working.
